Rotary filter
The rotary wedge wire filter is used primarily to remove fines from wash or treatment water prior to re-cycling.
The drum is made from stainless steel wedge wire material and the gap aperture is sized to suit the particular process. Typically, this gap is around 0.5 mm.
As the water passes through the filter, any particles bigger than the aperture are left on the outside of the drum. As the drum is rotating, the fines are removed by a scraper blade and taken out of the water stream.
Easy to clean, simple operation, very efficient with a long life make the rotary filter very popular with fresh produce processors.
